Ok,, today is officially my first day of summer. I've been out of town the first part of the week. So what should I do? I need some ideas. What is everyone else doing with their kids on the average summer day?

Happy Birthday babe!
Today is Brians birthday. He is thirty three years old. Thirty three years ago he was born at the same hospital I was born seven days earlier. We were born in the same hospital, same year, same week, we were meant to be together. I have been in love with Brian since I was fifteen years old and this is why....
He is Beautiful.... inside and out.
He is crazy, out of control fun to be with.
He is funnier than he_ _!
He is not critical of me, ( but he is a Nazi about getting the kids home work done).
In a world obsessed with appearance, he is not.
He is a hard worker and very motivated.
He is an exceptional dad, one of the BEST I've ever seen.
He is a goof ball, could care less about being cool.
He was a good boyfriend that turned out to be a wonderful husband, and I"M the lucky one.
He is patient with me and the girls.
He is generous.
He is his daughters number one fan.
He is our rock, our core, he makes our home complete every time he walks through the door.
I love you Brian. Thanks for all that you do and all that you are.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE!!!!

Dance

Last night was the girls dance recital. They all did a super job. I am so proud of them. I love stuff like this, I was meant to have girls,(girly girls). The only problem is....my husband loves all things sports
and I feel bad that he can't feel the way I felt last night. You know, watching your child do something you enjoyed doing as a kid. I know that he loves seeing his girls dance, but I wish he had a son.

This is for Julie...
Julie, here is my assignment. Only ONE problem, I only know how to down load 4 pictures at a time. I'm embarrassed of my computer skills. But, one thing I am good at is making something out of nothing! So here are some things I'm totally proud of.... The blue room is Tatums, and the light fixture is a 10.00 garage sale , brass kitchen light. I spray painted it white, dazzled it up with polka dots and stripes and walla... It looks like posh tots for maybe 15.00. Oh and I made the cord cover too, because the cords don't paint up well. The green room is my oldests Aspen I did the same thing with her light fixture. Can you imagine my electricians face when he asked for all my lighting to be delivered and here I come down the street dangling these beauties with snaggly wires. It was pretty funny. Thanks for your comment, you are so incredibly talented. I love checking you blog, you are one amazing girl! Posted by april hickman at 10:47 AM 8 comments

SUPER MOM
Do you ever get this? "So and so's mom has snacks on the counter for them right when they get home from school, and she does this and this and this..."Oh my heck, I get it all of the time. Maybe it's because most of the moms I live around are truely "SUPER MOMS" and I'm totally NOT. I mean, I feel good about my mothering skills. My kids are sort of clean, well fed (so am I), we get their homework done, but I do not have snacks waiting for them after school. Anyway, Aspen told me that it would be so cool if I did this and I agreed. So monday they come home from school and I forgot!!!! Yeah, I'm a loser. But today I had a buffet of snacks set out for them and boy did they love it!!! I did not realize the importance of a simple after school snack.(VERY.) So watch out Super Moms, I'm stepping up my game.

San Francisco

This weekend was the third annual girls trip to San Francisco. Every year we (me, my mom, my sister, and sister-in-law) go visit my husbands Aunt Cathy and cousins Mandy and Kristen. They are the best!!!! We have so much fun. It's non-stop talking and laughing for three days straight. What more could a girl want.
This year we did a little shopping on friday and on saturday we went across the bridge to Sausalito. I had never been their before. It's BEAUTIFUL to say the least. I think that I would love living in San Francisco, Brian says I say that about every city that I've been to. I just love big cities. My favorite thing to do when I am in a city is walk around the neighborhoods. I could care less about all the touristy stuff, I want to see where the locals live, eat, and hang out. It's even better walking around at night because they might just have their lights on and then I can check out how their houses are decorated.
I know that I sound scary, I'm not ,I swear, I just love to see how other people live. Anywho, it was a totally fun couple of days and a much needed break. I missed my girls and Brian and was so excited to see them today when I got home. That's what makes going away so nice, right?
Sorry my pictures are all messed up. I still don't know what the heck I am doing!!!!
